You know you're doing something right when...

the Technical Director of the game you are playing accuses you of exploiting... and you aren't ;)

I personally think the exploit mentioned is not really that strong, because you basically have to keep life-tapping while all damage you receive goes into your shield draining your mana big time.

So this renders you basically unable to cast any attack skills. Not very desireable.

So what did I do?
Maybe I just played the game as I think it is intended. I prepared with buffs, food, devotionals, I use crafted gear, top notch artifacts and got a balanced deck with CC & CC breaks.

What did they use? PVE decks, which they were unable to swap to a PVP deck apparently.

You should not flag PVP if you don't want to get attacked. PERIOD.

Atos of course realized that I played legit and was nice again ;)
Although I could feel his smile when he killed me once in the Blood Bay aftermath.

After coming to the game as a big fan of Lord British and Starr Long, I have to say Chris became the man I have faith in, making Shroud of the Avatar a great game. Keep it up Chris...

and I got what I wanted for my shrine:

Forsaken Virtues in Community Management - Part III

Portalarium's Community Management never ceases to amuse me. Apparently a poor guy got his name changed again into something ridiculous and his mate made a post on the official forums...   "Debbie does Sota"... that name apparently offended a little snowflake and he got reported, and Community Management had to put the offender in line again! WELL DONE.

The good, the bad and the inevitable.

What is the state of Shroud of the Avatar? The Good. 1. Most improvements have been made in the field of graphics, animation and VFX. Even though they are not perfect, I think they are no longer in a state that stops people from trying the game by just looking at it anymore. 2. Their Combat has improved a lot. The deck system is unique enough to give the game its own feel, and with the Heat system more in line of what people are used to in terms of MMOs. 3. Balance will probably always be an issue, also the skill leveling system and decay need some tweaking here and there, but overall one has to acknowledge they went into the right direction with the changes they made. 4. SotA's housing is simply one of the best I encountered in any MMO today. It is probably the closest feature to Ultima Online in the whole game. 5. Personal Investment The game has lots of potential... and that is what the game is currently driving on. The believe it is going to be good and can give u

Checking back at Shroud after 2 months break...

Game looks more polished. Combat is more fun now. Sandbox mechanics still missing though... but random PKing can be fun for a while again... ;) It is always good to make new friends in NB: Other people are more appreciative of me killing bunch of guys in Brittany Wharf: And I might actually go into the contract killing business... Got banned in the forums again, after making 3 posts. Lead to a longer discussion with Berek and to my surprise we both came to an agreement... so maybe things are improving, and I might take a closer look into SotA again, since with Kor they really got a programmer who knows the game very well, and Chris making promising statements that with Release there would be more sandbox features I might like... ;) Last but not least, the cringe of the week:
